Poetry time

Raven

I was born a wild bird

Glorious and free

Smart and crafty

Hording what I liked, you see

Injured by life’s twists and turns

They called it a kindness

Threw me in a cage

And reduced me to much less.

I mimic what they want me to

I do not fly away

I act like I am grateful

But this is not my way

I dream to spread my wings

Though I don’t know if I can

They’re wrinkled by my cage

I would not fly fore it is ban

So a domestic bird I’ll stay

This is the way
